Meeting on online social networks?

Theres this person who i added to my friends and am really interested in just by their description of themself and their interests. Even tho were on eachothers friends list we havent messaged eachother. So my question is, what should i send in my first message to initiate showing interest in them, while making them like me too?

Meeting on online social networks?
Well, I don't know what you should say, but I know what you SHOULDN'T say.

1) Don't tell them ohh you're pretty. Or something like that. When people send me messages telling me that, it gives me the idea that the only reason they decided to include me on their friends list was because of the way I look.

2) Don't ask them about their relationship status right off the bat. Honestly, take it from me, I don't know why, but it's probably the most annoying thing that people I don't know ask me.

That's like the only two things I wouldn't say.

I guess you could start by saying hi, that always works. l0l.

And just introduce yourself, and be like, hi, my name's _____. I noticed your on my friends list, but we've never talked, so what's up? Something like that. Hope I helped.
Reply:Send just a short introductory note about yourself (and I mean short) but also ask questions so they will have some reference point to answer to. It is like writing to pen pals.

Good luck
Reply:I think just write to her or him whatever thoughts come to you. Maybe your shared interests, or just a casual hi to begin with. See how it goes, and builds up. All the best. You don't have to try too hard to impress someone. Just be natural.
Reply:utilize your concurrent interests. Comment upon the fact that you share interests. Make use of this fact as a means of generating conversation on whatever messaging services you both might share. This can be a very effective tactic to initiate friendly or even loverly contact.

So try that. it has worked before, it might work for you.
