Are social networking sites against our moral values?

in certain sites i get friendhip requests from strangers(ofcouse frm the opp gender).my parents have warned me frm accepting them..


my friends do accept them...


i think my parents are right...but i'm confused sometimes...

It's not really anything to do with morals, it's to do with being selective or non selective with the type of people you associate as friends. Some people are quite happy to talk to anyone, which is fine, so long as they are carefull, but If you're like me, you don't want to talk to absolute strangers who mean nothing to you. Answers is different because you feel you are doing something constructive and learning something. It's each to their own I guess, and it does give allot of people a chance to get to know new people who might not otherwise have the chance to.
Reply:There is no way you can verify if the requests for friendship are from the opposite gender. Remember what happened to Adnan Patrawala and his profile on Orkut he got killed for ransom by "friends" he met on this social networking site.





It may be better for you to look for friends where you live instead of on the internet, as you cant verify the information given on the internet by people you cant see. So listen to the advice given by your parents and be a good boy and stay out of trouble.
