Starting a Health / Workout social site?

Any ideas you can think of?

It will be a blend between training/working out/cardio + social networking (groups, posting on other's journals') and such

What do you think would work well?

Starting a Health / Workout social site?
You need to be specific. Identify your target members first. Include only contents they are most interested in, and use links to point to other area of interest, it's easier as a start because there are so many health and exercise websites out there that can provide your members with very good information that you may not have.

For example, bodybuilders can go to bodybuilding.com, so there's no point to start a similar one unless there is a need or an existing organisation wanting to have their own website.

However, if you are experienced in a specific sport, start something simple like a training schedule, or as you said a journal of your own with photos. And if you have done a degree in a specific area with many years of work experience in the same field, you may run a Q%26amp;A website.

Many trainers write articles for different magazines and some do researches for college, they will put them up in their own website as well.

The best thing I can do is to give you some links:

This Health 24 website classifies the articles into Medical, Diet, Fitness, Man, Woman, etc

http://www.health24.com/

This is bodybuildingforyou website, they review supplements used in the sport

Online magazine

http://www.muscle-fitness.com.au/

It took a long time and input from many experts to build this kind of websites and many of them have a separate forum section.

^_^ good luck
