While AdSense and similar ad networks are an easy way to set up a revenue stream, alternatives include:
-building your own sponsorship program (low tech, high touch)
-investing in a third party ad network platform and selling ad space (low touch, high tech)
-joining affiliate programs and embedding image and text links
Don't expect to make a living off advertising, regardless of form. Good luck.

Find companies that provide those products, get in their affiliate program and you would earn a commission from referring them over for a sale.
